Location: Bunga's Den (Union Square)
Event: Amazingtown comedy show
Bunga's Den hosted a night of (very) amateur standup comics. For one guy, it was his first time performing ever and his discomfort was probably only equaled by my own. The comics were generally bearable, but one audience member sounded like she was getting paid per laugh and she was doing her job obnoxiously well. Clearly knowing the way to my frugal heart, they even cut the pizza slices in half.

Location: Brookly Library (Prospect Heights)
Event: Made in Brooklyn: Industry City and Fine & Raw
Food: Peppers, various wraps, salt and hazelnut chocolate
I'm ashamed to say I had never heard of Industry City before this event. As the name suggests, it's a former industrial section of Brooklyn which has been transformed into a community for artists and creators. The developer showed some pictures of the cool shit that's going on there. After that the founder of chocolate company Fine & Raw, whose quirkiness rivals Willy Wonka himself, went into great detail about his passion for chocolate. He was a bit odd, but his access to chocolate makes him husband material.

Location: Michael Jordan's The Steak House (Midtown East)
Event: National Beer Day
Food: Pigs in a blanket
Michael Jordan's The Steak House hosted a Goose Island beer tasting for National Beer Day. They served fancy pigs in a blanket, which are frankly underrepresented in my diet. Special thanks to Fox 5 NY for being my date to the event. Seeing yourself on TV really makes you realize you need a haircut.
