Week 17: Prosciutto Party and Double Ice Cream

Tuesday, May 10, 2016
Location:  Häagen-Dazs Store (Penn Station)
Event: Häagen-Dazs Free Cone Day
Food: Cookies and cream ice cream

Proving my dedication to free food, I went to the (pretty gross) Penn Station just to get a scoop of ice cream. Häagen-Dazs does an annual free cone day which is thankfully less crowded than the Ben & Jerry's equivalent. I chose cookies and cream because they didn't have my first and second choices.

Wednesday, May 11, 2016
Location:  Carl Hansen & Son (Tribeca)
Event: Kontor Presents: Tech by Design New York
Food: Charcuterie

I was by far the least fancy + worst dressed person at this event. I was wearing the kind of shoes that sometimes randomly fall off my feet so that was probably entertaining for the other guests. The food was superb and included the biggest block of cheese I've ever seen and prosciutto, which I love so much I'm committed to learning how to spell it. The chairs for sale at this showroom are like $1,500 so I decided not to touch those, but they looked pretty.

Sunday, May 15, 2016
Location:  Ninth Avenue (Hell's Kitchen)
Event: Ninth Avenue International Food Festival
Food: Häagen-Dazs chocolate peanut butter ice cream

I was out getting some toilet paper at Duane Reade when I happened upon this street fair on Ninth Avenue. I saw a long line of people so I had a feeling free food was near. I was treated to my second free serving of Häagen-Dazs this week. I bought an empanada at a nearby stand and enjoyed my lunch standing up in the street by myself.
